These words have been rolling around in my heart ever since I heard them. How many times have I been guilty of praying for relief rather than seeking Him for the strength and willingness to see beyond the struggle to the lesson that lies within it. Hope these words encourage you today. The link is to Laura Story's site. It is an audio link to the song.

BLESSINGS
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things
(Chorus)
'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if the thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
As long as we have faith to believe
Chorus
When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
Chorus
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy
What if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are your mercies in disguise

I love Laura Story's music... thank for this post! Prayers to you for strength in the Lord today and always!
sidenote~ is that YOUR Tattoo (Jeremiah 29:11)? Very nice! I have a 1" cross tat on the top of my right foot that I plan to get re-done (more color and a bit bigger).
Yes, Teri, the tattoo is on my right shoulder. My nephew, Eric, is a tattoo artist in Portland and created this for me. The four flowers represent my family members (D-A-Z-Y= Dale, Alyssa, Zach and Yvette). The verse is one of my life verses that I claim for every member of my family!
